When three creative minds come together to launch an album titled The 2project.com,
and also a website by the same name, it’s bound to generate a buzz.
Shubha Mudgal, Dutch composer Coos De Graaf (popularly known as Hygge) and Abhay
Adhikari (who mixed the tracks and put them up on the net) are the brains behind
the album that has three tracks. While Mudgal has lent her voice in The 2 mix and
Voices, Track 2 is an instrumental scored by Hygge.
The genesis of the project happened while they were chatting on the net.
“We didn’t set out to create what is saleable or think of music labels to sit in
judgment on us ,” says Mudgal. “It was important to think alike and collaborate.”
The tracks are also available on the website, underscorerecords.com, set up by
Mudgal and her husband Aneesh Pradhan.
Hygge composed the tracks and asked Adhikari to work on them. Mudgal then
interpreted them in her matchless style. Finally, Adhikrai did the mixing to come
up with a unique blend of classical and techno music.
Adhikari, who records sounds even when he is driving, plans to use such sounds in
a forthcoming album. That will be another novelty, for sure.
